This project was developed in collaboration with a partner, and not all aspects of the game were created by me. My primary responsibilities focused on the construction system, gameplay loop implementation, and several core gameplay systems.
Project Summary
When I joined the project, the game was still in its early stages and lacked many of its core gameplay features. My main contribution was the design and development of a modular building system called "The Constructor", which allows players to freely design and customize their own coffee shop. The system was inspired by the building mechanics found in The Sims 4 and involved the development of custom gameplay logic, architecture, shaders, and user interaction systems.
In addition to the construction tool, I redesigned and refactored the NPC behavior systems, improved NavMesh navigation workflows, and contributed to the overall gameplay loop and technical architecture of the project.
My work focused on creating scalable, maintainable systems that could support future development while improving the player experience and the project was successfully released on Steam as Coffee Break Paradise.
